Komen El Paso Grants
Komen El Paso Affiliate grants $513,588...
May 24, 2010EL PASO, TX May 24, 2010 — The El Paso Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure will award more than $500,000 to local non-profit organizations, educational institutions and national breast cancer research on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Butterfield Trail Golf Club (1858 Cottonwoods) at a special press conference at 10:00 a.m. The grant recipients include organizations and educational institutions that provide breast cancer education, screening and treatment to underserved men and women throughout El Paso County.
The El Paso Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure will award $390,000 to the following 2010-2011 local grant recipients:

The El Paso Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure will also award $123,588 to national breast cancer research for a grand total of $513,588.
With sincere gratitude, the El Paso Affiliate will recognize its individual and corporate donors for their outstanding in-kind and financial contributions that assist us in fulfilling our promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever.
In addition to awarding grants, outstanding volunteers that have contributed their time and dedication to the local fight against breast cancer will be recognized. Awards to be presented include 2010 New Activist of the Year, Co-Survivor Activists of the Year, Group Activists of the Year and the Komen National Power of One Award.
The press conference will also kick-off the 2011 Komen El Paso Race for the Cure® season. The 19th Annual Komen El Paso Race for the Cure® will take place on Sunday, February 20, 2011. The Race is the largest 5K run/walk in El Paso with over 13,000 participants in 2010 and is part of the largest 5K series in the world with over 1.5 million individuals participating in 2009.
